Congrats on the "new" car. As pointed out by others, there are many threads on front end. I found a bad upper ball joint and bad sway bar bushes pretty easily. Fixing those made a 50 percent improvement. Make sure if you take your wheels for Road Force Balancing, that they in fact do that. I took mine in and they put in on their Road Force machine but shame on me I didn't say anything when it looked like they were only doing the spin balancing and not using the Road Force part of the machine (a big old roller pushes up against the tire). I screwed up just because I was in a hurry and they asked me to get out of the way. They only charged me the regular fee but that isn't really what I wanted. So make sure you demand it. Remember when you are looking at the tensioners it's the body color not the shoe color that you are interested in. The body holding the plastic shoe has to be metal to be the good one.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. I'll hopefully have time to check under the car again this weekend, this time for front suspension bushings and ball joints.

I had it up on my lift when I first got it and was checking for rust. It's very clean underneath for a 16 year old car. The rear axle area has a lot of surface rust on the axle and suspension arms, but the body was very clean.

Dave, I just received my brand new factory reconditioned radio and I hope that it fixes all my radio problems. First I'll install the new rear woofers and on Sunday I'll install the new radio. Ebay is a wonderful way of saving on sales tax. I just bought new tires locally and there was no way to avoid the tax.

Got the radio installed last night. Thanks to all that have provided tutorials. The new radio works 100%. Just out of curiosity I hooked up the old radio and it too was at 100%. Whats up with that? These Jaguar electrics are puzzling. Now I have a nice spare radio. The radio bezel came out in many pieces. Had to glue it all back together with Duco cement temporarily and ordered a new one on Ebay. The woofers I bought were very poor quality and need to be addressed.

Now there's not much left to fix. Just suspension, tensioners and an oil change.
