New TB wont idle
Hey all,
Wondering if I maybe missed something. I bought a spare tb to send out to get bored. When I installed it the car doesnt seem to want to stay running. I have the cable all the way adjusted as well. Am I missing something? The TPS both have the same number I checked
Thanks!

Double check all of the connections and perform a hard reset, then let it idle for about a minute. If your car is used to a certain throttle body (or tps position) it will remember it and if it doesn't' match it will not idle correctly.
I helped a fellow member once who had gotten his throttle body redone and it ran just fine BUT when he disconnected his battery (or it died, cant remember) every time he would start the car it would idle at 1800rpm. Turns out the TPS was off just a little. Your situation may be just exactly the opposite of that.

I agree. With a larger throttle body bore, its now getting more air with the TPS angle setting of the smaller bore. You need to loosen the TPS screws and rotate the TPS ever so slightly. The TPS is much like a variable resister. As the throttle opens, the TPS pulses the injectors longer. I did something similar years ago on a throttle body 84 Cadillac. Installed a larger throttle body and had to reset the TPS. As you know, torque will improve but horsepower will not change limited by the airflow thru the intake manifold and valve size.
