New throttlebody
I just bought a new TB and am wondering if a DIY person can set the TPS or does it have to be done with a special instrument?
Background, got the P0121 code and after a lot of research, found it came down to either the TB or connectors and since this is my DD and did not want to take any chances, I got both.

Can't answer your question, unfortunately, but I can ask one. Did you get a new unit from Jaguar, or rebuilt from one of the reman companies, or what? Just curious, I may be headed down the same road soon.
Mind telling us what you spent?

I've been looking for a similar post I saw last year but can't find it. From what I remember the TB does not require external programming to the car - you need to do a hard reset after fitting the TB and the ecu learns the new settings. If I'm wrong on this I'm sure one of the techs will chime in. Might be worth a call to your local dealer to confirm this - the worst they can say is go away, but possibly not in those exact words

Yes, this for one where the stop and TPS has been set. ASI sent mine with the TPS not setup, you have to set the TPS and throttle stop and I cannot find anybody who knows how to do this.
My new TB has the TPS setup,so that the TPS is turned all the way to one side, where my old TPS is set somewhere near the middle.

Does this help? I hadn't appreciated exactly what you were trying to do. Halfway seems a good place to start, perhaps?

ASI still has not responded to me, so here I am trying to figure this out. First question, what kind of screw head in on the TPS?
If I cannot adjust, think I am going to get a reman from BBA, they tell me they preset the TPS and throttle stop, so all I need to do is replace and do a hard reset.
