New Wheels ordered 6 months ago, Mounted
The new 19" Coventry Whitley wheels I ordered in July last year finally arrived last week. Here they are mounted on my 05 XKR. Tires are Continental ExtremeContact, 245/40X19" front, 285/30X19" rear.
Given the average length of Minnesota's winter, I doubt I'll be able to try them out for least 3 more months...

just curious. I flew rotary wing in the US Army, UH-1's. the highways in 'nam were a little crowded and full of surprises but managed to make it back.

Stetson1,
I should have edited that, I didn't intend it to be there. It's the wing of my Cessna 177B Cardinal. I'll probably spend more time in it than than the Jag before the spring.
I can't really say I envy you your time 'nam, but I humbly thank you for your service.
Regards,

Very nice wheels, both old and new. I'm assuming the original wheels were 18's? If so, when it stops snowing and you can take it out on a good run, I would like to know if you notice any difference in ride comfort or handling with the 19's.
BTW, love the metallic blue colour (same as mine).
Cheers,
Stu

Beautiful new wheels. Your originals look identical to the 18 inchers on my 2003 coupe. I've been toying with the idea of going with the Whitleys but, like StuG, I'm concerned with going to the 19 inch wheels and tires. Please let us know how it goes when you get it on the road.
Nice hangar/garage! I don't have any rotary wing time like stetson1 (thank you for your service) but I've spent some time in fixed wing ...

LOOKS GREAT!...I upgraded my factory 18"s with 19"s and couldn't be happier. 285 in rear 255 up front. I was also concerned about ride quality which is why I didn't go with 20's Seems the extra girth of my 19's made up for the loss of sidewall. Feels great!. SO for those afraid to go 20's...19's work!
AGAIN NICE RIMS!

Thanks for the approving comments guys, most appreciated.
There were so many forum reports about damaged 20" wheels from so many 20" wheel owners that I thought going with 19" would be the best solution for visual appeal, with improved steering and handling. I'm very happy with the visual result, but the long wait for spring, before I get to try them out is going to kill me...
By the way if you're thinking of buying Whitleys then I suggest you place the order asap, mine really did take six months to arrive!

I just mounted mine (20s). They sure change the look. I was surprised at how little the ride changed vs the stock 18s. If I don't dodge a pothole I feel it but it is much better than I was expecting. Mina springs should go on this week to eliminate the gap.
I love the color of your car and the wheels add such a classy yet sporty look to it. I am envious of the lines of the coupes.

I don't think I would have been able to tell the difference between 19 and 20 if you didn't specify yours were 19s. They look great. I love the ground effects and grille on the 05. They give it such a modern and clean look. I have debated getting the updated grille but have held off for now.
These Whitleys are a perfect match for these in any size in my opinion. They offer a similar look of the Sepangs without the price. I like that you can re-use the stock center cap so they look OEM too.
Nice ride!

Coventry just got some staggered 20s back in stock. Element Motorsport was able to order them for me. They had been out for a few months. Not that you asked me, but I ordered my wheels/tires separately since they didn't have the tires I wanted in a package on any of the websites. I had them mounted at the local Discount Tire.

I ordered my tires mounted and balanced. They were nitrogen filled when mounted, but I'm not sure of any advantage that offers.
75% of what you breath in is nitrogen, and of course 75% of what is in everyone's tires is nitrogen. As you can't exactly vacuum out any regular air from your tires, filling with pure nitrogen can never offer a pure nitrogen fill, perhaps 80-90% at best.
Hardly seems to be worth the effort...
