Default New XKR!

Hello everyone!
I am now back and finally in the swing of things. My first XK8 was totaled in a small rear-ender. The second XKR I bought was a trainwreck, so I sold it. Finally, I have stumbled upon and purchased a gorgeous XKR coupe. Snapped it up and brought it home with me. This is the first running Jaguar I've bought, and I'm really excited to tackle all the little things and get the car back to being 100%. Only 40k miles on it, in a beautiful Titanium Metallic. So far nothing wrong mechanically it was very well taken care of and serviced. Most of the issues I can see I know how to fix. However, there are a couple things I am hoping the forum can help me out on.

Here are the issues I am facing...

1. Speakers do not work. Only the tweeters and the subwoofer. The door / rear seat speakers never worked on my XK8, so I'm wondering if it's a normal wiring issue. How should I test this to see if it is a speaker or wire issue?

2. Rear Bumper needs to be repainted. I have been looking for videos on how to remove the bumper, but this won't be a huge deal and is not an immediate fix.

3. Headlamp Washer cover piece won't stick back on. I grabbed the cover from my old XKR before I sold it and went to stick it on the other day, and it won't go! Same year and headlight...anyone have any recommendations for this?

4. The dashboard piece to the left under the steering column appears to be loose and hanging down slightly. I am guessing it is missing a clip. Going to do some further research and see how to take the piece off to fix it.

The car has a brand-new battery and fresh oil, but was not a daily. Since I am planning to daily for a little while, I am putting in a K&N air filter in it and a gas additive for the engine. Looking forward to it and I will keep the forum updated on little things as I go along. Hopefully no major catastrophic repairs in the near future

Congrats on your new ride! Sounds awesome. Post up some pics when you have a chance.

As for your issues, they seem fairly minor and hopefully easy to resolve. I have had the issue you experienced with number 3. Basically, the little plastic piece that receives the knob from the washer cover piece at the end of the headlamp washer pump had cracked. The plastic is fairly brittle. I had to purchase a replacement and found one on eBay at a reasonable cost. Take a look and if this is your issue it looks like one is priced at around $40 on eBay:

Best of luck!

Thank you! Two problems resolved! I was able to pull out the headlamp washer and then stick the piece on. I wasn't able to do that before because I did not pull out the mechanism and there just wasn't enough force.
The sound system had been tuned all the way forward! Fixed it back to equal and everything seems to work.

Wow that is great news! Ha, gotta love it when things are resolved relatively easy. Savor those moments as I find they are few and far between!
