You Brits are a hardy bunch. More power to ya and may God speed on such a mission. Here in the mis west of the states, we use salt but with good fortune mine has never had to see it. California car all it's life before coming here. TM
In a country where is rains continuously, the British seem to have no concern at all about corrosion protection. WHY IS THAT ?
I had inherited the car after a fair few owners. In fairness, you would expect a car as expensive as this was new, would be built to handle this sort of weather.
The car has been epoxyed on the underside and has had a coat of lanoguard now at least!
Wow! Fantastic job tackling all the rust. You've definitely got skills.
Interested in your radio upgrade. Any details to share on that bit?
Appreciate it! I still have much to be desired I feel, but nothing a hammer and some filler didnt sort
The radio I used was a Joying 8.8 model.
You need the screen extension cable to make it work.
I purchased a separate centre piece that matched my wood well enough and cut the opening for the screen on this. Dremel metal cut off wheel (reinforced) found an angle grinder a little too aggressive.
To secure the screen, I used hanger straps that were epoxied in place and used the factory screw holes on the screen to attach to the hanger strips.
I'll take pictures next time its out of the car.
Used the incartec wiring harness to plug up to the original sound system and used a broken original radio for the fascia panel to cover the stereo opening.
It's been longer than I would have hoped, but house repairs and what not have been putting this back, but its finally nearly done.
The rear wings, sills and arches have been painted and blended.
Really happy with how the backend has turned out. Need to do something with the rear bumper, but that can wait.
Also started on another center console mod, did not like how the cover plate looked for the old radio, so been working on relocating the 3 dials.
Everything fitted, just need to work out wiring!
Also a new gear knob.
I'm happy to say another one finally saved from the rot.
