It would help to know what model and year of car you have. If you put that info in your signature you won't have to repeat it in every thread...
But... if you take off the plastic cover that's over the top of the engine (four 1/4 turn screws) you'll see the two fuel rails that supply fuel to the injectors. There's one on each side. They look like pipes about 3/8ths of an inch in diameter running from the front to the back of the engine just a few inches above the two plastic covers that say "Jaguar" on them. Near the front of the left fuel rail you'll see a Schrader valve. A Schrader valve is just like the valve on your tires. It might have a blue or black cap in it. Take off the cap and use a screwdriver or some other tool to press in on the little pin on the inside of the Schrader valve while someone is cranking the engine WARNING! If your fuel pump is working then fuel is going to spray out, so cover it with a rag or something. The first time I did it I got a face full of fuel, and the engine wasn't even running.
If fuel sprays out that means your fuel pump is pumping fuel. If not, then you have a problem. It might not be a fuel pump, it could be a blockage or maybe the fuel pump isn't getting power. But this will at least let you know if the pump is turning. Also, as long as you have pressure there you should be able to start the car for a second or two. It might stop right away if the fuel pump isn't generating enough pressure to keep it running, but you said it won't start, not that it starts and then dies.
