many of us use apps on our smart phones (android) Torque Pro is a good one. You have to get the bluetooth ELM327 (I think that is the right number) off of ebay that plugs into the OBD port and off ya go. Pretty good reader, lots of things you can do with it.
I have it and use it on MULTI cars.

I think this topic has ben beaten to death. The answer depends on whether you have a smartphone and whether it is Android or Apple. For apple you need a WiFi ELM327 and the Dash Command app. For Android you need a Bluetooth ELM327 and the Torque app. There are a lot of more expensive stand alone readers and programmers, but for the non professional I think these options cover almost all the bases.

Many have moved to the smart phone solution because you can get a full featured reader for less than $20. The Android/Apple apps will also reset the CEL/MIL but if you want a stand-alone reader or more here is a forum thread that covers most is not all of the devices out there from $50 to $3,000.
