Hi everyone
I have a problem in my car which seem electrical. Suddenly my drivers side window was jammed and was unable to close or open it.even with the car key in the lock. I couldnt lock my car as the alarm would suddenly sound as soon as i press lock !!!
the next morning, the windows worked! but then they stoped again!!
Another problem i noticed in one day! my mpg, range, fuel usage trip computer or display had gone! iam unable to toggle through my info. very strange! All in one day. what could this be? please help. I want to get my car back to normal.
Another non electrical problems are:
I have changed my spark plugs. i noticed there is alot of oil in the spark plugs wells. why does this happen? and how do I fix this?
Also is using engine flush a good idea?
these are the issue's with my car and i want to start fixing and servicing it as soon as i know what to do to solve it.
I appreciate your comments.
thank you for your help.

check your battery voltage. I think it needs to be a full 14 volts so the windows do not go bonkers. As for the oil in the plug wells that is because the o ring assembly on the valvue cover has shrunk. You should be able to just put on a new gasket set for both covers. There is a main gasket and then O rings on each valvue cover bolt and then an o ring assembly for each spark plug race. It has been suggested to but the genuine Jag gaskets set because the jag sets are thicker.
Leave the plugs in and dry out the wells with a paper towel and long skinney dowel. Then blow out the wells with air. Then remove the covers to put new gaskets on them.
You will need a 10mm swivel socket to get the bolts off by the fire wall. Buy a 1/4" drive version, Sears, The torque should be in the FAQ'S.

DaddyO: Do they have Sears and Roebuck in England? LOL
After needing a jump start last week, I purchased a $34 BatteryTender for my XK8--to maintain a 100% battery charge. Hopefully it'll also make the battery last far longer and ultimately minimize frustrations. I strongly suggest hard wiring a Battery Tender on any Jag, and a full charge might have made a difference in XK8UK's case.
By maintaining a full charge on all toys, I hope to avoid buying batteries every year for riding mowers, Waverunners, ATV's.

Good point Alabama.
I thought Sears was everywhere.

Check shopwiki. to see if they have them. In the states you can buy single and not have to get the sets.
