Oil leak - anyone used dye ?
Hi lads
Finally got around to changing out the two O-rings for the oil cooler lines on my 4.0. But a moment of aaaargh tonight, the oil leak is still there. I was pretty sure the mess was coming from the figure-8 oil-cooler fittings, so it must be something else (unless perhaps I have torn the new O-rings on fitting).
So, question, has anyone made use of a dye-based leak detection kit ? I plan to hose off the front of the engine again, put some dye in, run the engine for 10 mins and go searching. I hope the dye makes the task easier. I believe it comes with a little torch type thing
