Default Oil Level

I just had the oil changed as part of the winter storage prep. My mechanic put 8.5 quarts in and the level on the dipstick is about one half inch above the max mark. Could this cause some problems? The manual says capacity is 6.9 quarts without an oil cooler, and 7.7 with. I checked my previous oil change invoices and 8.5 quarts has been the norm.

To much oil is a very big problem, it is worse than running low. Drain out some oil, easiest way is to take the filter off and drain the oil out if the filter and reinstall.

If you are 1 ½ qt over filled I would suggest that you have that corrected, if you are ½ qt I say leave it alone it will not harm a thing.
