Opinions wanted from the Xksperts...
I have a XK8,year 2000. Locally there is a XJ8 (2001) that has sat outside for two years with a bad engine. If I aquired this as a parts car, how much of it would be suitable replacements for my XK8? Is the tranny the same? Wheels, computers, knicknacks, ect? Thanks... Bob

How much would you have to pay for it, and where would you keep the thing while you picked parts off of it for the next (?) years? How many miles are on it? I'm guessing a lot, which means forget about the transmission - not worth the risk. And are there really that many engine parts you would want, used, from it?
The rest of the car is kind of a wash for your purposes, but if you had the space to keep it and the patience to do so, you might one day ebay the whole thing to other XJ owners, one piece at a time.

Dead XJ8
Guys, Thanks for the input. I'm willing to pay something less than a grand for it, if I go foreward. Has sat for 2-3 years, owner says that a mekanik' told him he had spun a crankshaft main bearing, diagnosis apparently based upon his use of x-ray vision... Body; black, some minor damage on drivers side, sizable dimple in the middle of hood, nice rims, tires with lots of meat but have been sitting, interior in good shape, but a smokers car, nothing has been picked off it yet. Mileage around 90,000. I do have outside storage available.
