Optima Battery ?
Hi everyone hope all is well, I'm looking for advice its time for a new battery in my XK8 and I was thinking about a Optima yellow top, but it looks considerably smaller than the Interstate battery that's in the trunk now, the guys at advanced auto parts and PepBoys said there computer gives the Optima Yellow top as an option.
Thanks for any advice, John

Auto Zone has very good batteries for the money. Not sure if they have an AGM model to fit our cars, but these are available from a few sources ... at a lower price than Optima.

I went with a high quality AGM battery for the car from Odyssey, it cost nearly $400 and failed in about 3 months. Then went and got an off the shelf AGM battery from the local battery store for half that price and it has been working fine ever since. Battery store recommended against Optima, said their quality has fallen since they started manufacturing in Mexico.

I believe any group 49 vented battery will work, assuming it fits the space correctly. Can be found online or at any of the major auto parts stores.
The vented feature is critical due to it being in the trunk. Fumes are an issue.
Some of the audio blog sites that used to love Optima are now staying away from them as overpriced.
