Default Part 2R83-18801-BA loose under car, where to put back?

I noticed a strange looking part dangling from some wires under my 2004 XK8 near the output of the transmission and above the exhaust pipes. I removed it and looked up the part number (2R83-18801-BA) and it is a Radio Antenna Frequency RF filter. Seems like a very strange place to put a device associated with the radio. Very weird. My question is where is it supposed to go? I see it has plastic mounting studs that look like they go through some holes somewhere but I can't find anything that fits within reach of the 8" wires the part plugs into. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So I think I have the answer to this question after googling it and not finding much in the way of information about this part myself. This is partially to answer your question and to provide answers to anyone else googling this part number and not coming up with any actual information as to what this is in the first place.

While doing a transmission service on my '06 XJR, I had come across this same part that was actually mounted in place, but one of the black wires had corroded and separated from the plastic body. On my car, there was I believe a plastic bracket near the rear right of the transmission that the two plastic nubs slotted into. Yours may have snapped off or fallen off at some point, hence why this module would've been dangling when you found it.

According to this site regarding the Land Rover Discovery 3/LR3 (with a very similar 6HP26X): DISCO3.CO.UK Photo Gallery - ZF 6HP26 Automatic Transmission in LR3 , the reason this radio frequency filter is placed near the transmission is because it's purpose is to suppress noise generated by the solenoids in the transmission. They say that the capacitor is not necessary to operate the vehicle, but leaving it disconnected may result in solenoid noise being picked up on some radio stations.

I just transmission service on my 08 XKR and I had to remove this to unplug the Mechatronics plug. From your pictures, you can see that the mounting tab is broken. I was wondering what this was.
