passenger door open light
I have a 2003 Jaguar xkr convertible and After reading several posts, I still have the warning light "passenger door open". I did manage to remove the right door passenger door latch and removed the plastic cover. I tested the internal switch with the black and green wires, and was getting erratic readings. I am pretty sure that the switch is defective, but the entire assembly seems riveted together. Has anyone removed this switch? is there a procedure for removing that switch?? my assembly has two switches, and one has some white plastic housing, and pops out easily. and I did find part nrs c2n1908 and omron elkectronics d2sw-3l3ms......any ideas???

There's a great utube video from rev Sam about this. I'd search this forum for post by rev Sam & door.
its one of those jobs that while it looks scary and intricate, its just time consuming in the end.
I think you will have to remove the window because the rear vertical window channel blocks access. Some hints on that:
if you need to secure the unfastened window in up position, grab a padded pipe clamp. Small pressure will safely secure it.
when unfastening bottom of glass in lower horizontal channel, 2 things: 1) dont lose the cotter pins when removing. If it flies off its really hard to find this nonmagnetic piece in the bowels of the door.
2) cotter pin out now to disconnect the window from channel sliders. It takes quite a bit of force and when it releases = BANG noise. This is normal, but it'll give you a heart attack working on the glass if not prepared.
many of us, myself included find the switch trouble clears while working on it.
one last thing, I found the available material hard to translate into how to remove and install the new switch once you have unit in hand. Just want you to be able to study it and ask ? Before you get there.
hope it helps
