Passenger door is stuck closed and locked
My passenger door is stuck closed in the lock position. What is the best way to get the door open so I can replace the door lock mechanism? The window works. The inside door handle does not work. I have sprayed the door with a "Liquid wrench" and the inside door handle seems to be doing something. Just not unlocking. If I unlock the driver's door with the handle, both doors seem to go into a strange on/off cycle

I'd suspect she's stuck in deadlock.
First eliminate low battery - charge her up.
Try handles again.
Then try using the key in drivers door. Turn it counter clockwise to unlock both doors. Then try outside handle..
Give us feedback from there.

I checked the battery with a multimeter.. It is 12.35Volts not running and 14Volts running.
When I turn the key to the left and open the driver's door, the alarm goes off. The passenger door does not unlock. Note: window goes down, but right back up when I operate the passenger's handle.
The passenger door still does not open
When I lock the driver's door from the inside my pushing in on the door handle. I do get a response from the passenger door. When I unlock by pulling the driver's door to me. The passenger door handle moves as well but does not unlock the door. I am going to try spray in more lubricate

Have a read through this 2017 thread from chillyphilly. He was faced with the drivers door stuck, and there might be some pointers in there that will help you:

There is a YouTube video link (it is still active) towards the end of the thread showing how someone solved the issue. It relates to an XJ, but is relevant.
Good luck!

Some Progress has been made
1. I was able to remove the door card with the door closed. I started at the stop, which is not recommended, and worked my way around to the dash. I then lifted and twisted the door card out.
2. I reached in and found the lock mechanism and tried to unlock it by hand. This did not work. I proceeded to remove the lock mechanism from the actuator which I thought might be holding the lever in the locked position. The actuator arm is made of plastic and is easy to cut. This was not the problem.
3. I modified the interior of the door by cutting some metal away to give access to the area where the striker enters the lock.
4. There is a small square hole above the striker that a thin long screwdriver can be inserted to lift the lever holding the door locked

This happened to me when the little plastic tab in the door lock motor box broke (other threads in this forum show that issue) so that my passenger door could only be unlocked electrically.
The inside handle could open the door, and it would even flip in and out, but it couldn't actually unlock the door. Sometimes, yeah, the car would cycle the locks, but not always.
This wasn't too much of a problem until there started to be occasional electrical glitches to the door, possibly related to water ingress near the fuse box... that's accessible only by opening the door.
It was way too easy to ignore the issue and rely on the electric lock that worked 90% of the time, but there was a Sword of Damocles hanging because I just knew some day that fuse would blow, and I'd be stuck without a way to open the door to get to it. It was an annoying job, but one day I sat down and finally fixed it by fixing that stupid little tab.
Anyway, just sharing in case someone else comes across this issue. The plastic tab can be a cause, and hopefully you can get in without going through what FastCat85 had to do.
