Unhappy passenger side mirror won't adjust

When I started, the passenger's seat wouldn't recline and the memory for the driver's seat wouldn't work, though the memory for the mirrors and wheel worked fine. The driver's seat controls worked as well, just no memory.
I pulled both modules and found that the one for the passenger's seat was a mess of corrosion, and the one for the driver's seat looked fine. They had both been yanked out by some moron gorilla with a crow bar and zip-tied back in. I put the good module under the passenger's side and went to work on the other one. I got it fixed so the seat memory worked, and the passenger's seat would now recline just fine, but now my passenger side mirror wouldn't adjust, not with the switch or the memroy...totally dead. Weird, I hadn't touched the mirror at all!

I took the modules out again to see if anything else was wrong, but nothing obvious, (though I could use a new driver's seat module if I could find one at a reasonable price).

After messing with it some more, resoldering the trace again, and installing the modules the way they were,(crappy looking module on the passenger's side), I'm back where I started, the memory works for the wheel and left side mirror, but not for the seat, and now I can't adjust the right side mirror at all, but the recline is working for the passenger, so I guess that's one good thing, except that damn right side mirror.

Any ideas out there? Does the seat module have complete control of the mirror, or is there somewhere else I should look?

It could be the module, but it can also be a bad switch. See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...control-63646/

the switch works well for the other mirror, just the right one isn't responding to the switch or the memory.

Given the history, I would be more suspect of the module as you are, but is still could be a problem the switch contact that switches between sides.

James
My mirrors quit working, and it was in the switch. I took it apart and the contacts were heavily corroded. It actually took three cleanings with 1500 grit sand paper. when taking the switch apart be careful and remember where the parts go.
