passenger window clicking, no movement
Hi,
My passenger window forgot its position the other day, so I reset it and it was fine. A few days later it stopped going up or down when the door was opened and when I pressed up or down it just clicked once.
Does anybody know why this might happen? I've just had a new battery installed and an autoelectrician fix a parasitic drain ( then fully charged the battery ), so I doubt it's low battery voltage.

This I'd 2 different issues so let me verify.
1) window stopped moving at all when door handle touched to open.
2) window does not work at all ever. ( car running or not, both switches, key in drivers door)?
#2 supercedes #1. Do you hear a click when window switch pressed for this window ?
Sounds like a bad window regulator to me. Others??
As I recall, you need to remove regulator to replace motor. Given the price of regulator on ebay, just replace the whole thing.
If you can get the door card off, figure it's a 30 or 40 minute job to replace regulator.

Last night I drove the car. Before I started the engine the window wouldn't budge ( just one click ). When I started the engine, it let me move the window.
So could that be the motor being on its way out and requiring a higher voltage from the regulator to function, perhaps? I didn't notice it moving slower than normal, however.
I did have to replace my driver door regulator a couple of years ago, so that this one would be on its way out isn't surprising.
