Default Passenger Window MisMove??

Recently when I lower the top on my '06 XK8, the passenger window starts down with the top moving up and back. It stops only half way down, and stays there until the top is fully lowered. I can then lower the driver driver side(it has not moved), and the 1/2 lowered passenger window with the driver's side switches.
Sometimes after I raise the top, the passenger window will suddenly decide to lower without no input from either side. I then have to activate the driver's side switch, twice(first time does nothing), to raise the passenger window. After that , I can raise or lower it from either side, normally. So far I have not taken the switch out to spray with WD40. That is my next step.
Something I can live with, just would rather not. Doe anyone have any ideas, or have seen this before?

Sam

Is that switch in the door, or car body?

It is in the door latch assembly in the door. Watch Reverend Sam's video of how to remove it. He replaced the entire assembly with one he found on ebay for $20 or so. It is much less expensive and far more practical to replace just the microswitch. I ordered several from mouser.com. The new Omron microswitch part number is D2SW-3L3MS. Order at least two of them because you will eventually be doing the other door as well. Wayne (cjd777) and I successfully replaced these microswitches in my wife's 2006 XK8 last April. Small, nimble hands definitely help when working to detach and later reattach the mechanical rods inside the doors....

For my synopsis of this job, see my thread entitled "Drivers Door Handle / Door Lock Problem"....

Many thx. I will check these out. "Small, Nimble' does not describe my 'Ham' fists, so that will be a problem, but I will do what I have to.

I have gorilla-sized hands as well. I had no chance of getting my hands inside the door cavities for that part of the job. Wayne worked his magic in those tight spaces for me. Find a 9-year-old neighborhood kid who is willing to help you and the job will go much easier and quicker....

That will be an issue, as in my neighborhood, the average age is 92+. Fortunately, I have a mechanic friend who is small enough to do the job. Now I just have to find all the videos.

Thx.

Yes. That is the first thing I do whenever I replug the battery. They drop during opening, O.K., the passenger window keeps doing strange things.
