Default The purr-fect plate...

I liked the PRRRFCT suggestion so well that I ordered a modified version, in California. I asked for PURRFIK but it was unavailable(!) So changed it to PRRRFIK and succeeded. The PURR or PRRR should be fairly obvious for a cat. The FIK instead of FCT is a nod to the lovable Pop Larkin in the "Darling Buds of May" novel/TV series.

Not discussed so far in this thread, but I wonder whether there might be some mileage with a play on the word FELIX (such as FELIXK8)

JAGUAR5 - My2005 Jaguar XK8

JAGUAR7 - My 2007 Jaguar XJ8

JAGWIRE

POUNCE

Not available

JAGUAR

I wish Florida had a simple plate like that with a growler. You will have the perfect plate for the car.

This is the closest I can get in Florida without going all college fanboy.

That black jaguar head you see, I created. I will have to order a vinyl decal to put on the license plate or on a plastic cover over it.

Oklahoma does not have a black jaguar head specialty plate you can order.

Oh okay. I get it.

We could not do that to a plate in Florida. Would be considered altering the plate and get you a ticket for sure. We get tickets just for using a plate surround that covers too much of the plate. Its crazy.

The law is the same here in Oklahoma I am sure. I have tried to get away with putting the decal on the inside of a protective plastic cover over the tag. I have done it for years and no police officer has said a thing to me about it and there have been several opportunities for them to do that.

I live in Pennsylvania and decided to get a custom plate. Settled on PRTY KTY. Seemed innocuous to me, but I got a call from the DMV advising me that it was objectionable because of what they considered a reference to p-ssy. I explained to the person calling me that the car is a Jaguar, i.e. a very large kitty. He told me that it would have to be presented to "the committee" for approval. Finally got the plate two weeks later.

Good to know that my tax dollars are funding the guardians of our moral character.

If I go with "JAGUARS", which I probably will. I'll buy this stainless steel frame and have the models and model codes of my two Jaguars engraved on it.

It's hard to believe JAGUARS was still available.

I am now the proud owner of the Oklahoma Personalized License Plate: JAGUARS. I just register this name thru the Internet and paid the Oklahoma Tax Commission $27.00.

I have ordered many personalized Okla. plates before thru the mail in the past, but this is the first time over the Internet. This OTC Internet site has to be very new.

I ordered my California plate via the Internet. Quite painless but it will be sent to my local DMV where I have to make an appointment and pick it up in person, while forfeiting my existing plates. I was interested to find that I was not asked for what vehicle I was ordering the plate. I could put it on one of my other vehicles, if I chose.

In Oklahoma the original plate has to remain in the vehicle.

I believe I have ended my search for personalized plates for my two Jaguars. I will probably put the JAGUARS tag on my XK8 and the MAJ ESQ on my XJ8.

Is there anyone out there that likes what I have decided? "Likes" are sure hard to come by on this forum.
