Another pet hate hit me today. I parked in the store car park. Well away from other cars came back to see some clown had parked next to me and proceeded to bang his door against mine. "careful mate" I asked. Then got a mouthful of abuse back. I just smiled and calmly took his reg. "wha you doin?" I smiled " now I have your reg I can find your address and get some of the boys to pay you a visit". Never seen a guy change so quick. He actually apologized! I nearly asked him to polish the car but I thought that would be pushing it.

As a kid I always looked forward to my mother calling me for dinner.

Your new name is "for dinner"

My mum always used to shout "Is that you?"

The people down at my local think I am god. Honest. Ever time I go in they say "oh God its you again"

Since we're in a corny humor mode...

Nobody recognizes my car as a Jaguar. Everywhere I go people say here comes that Maniac

On the original question:

It occurred to me that boats have inboard or outboard motors, whereas airplanes are single or twin engine.

Not sure what that tells us, but there it is ...

Not quite true. Some airplanes and boats have no engines or motors. Some have far more than two. Some people believe that you can never have too many.

Respectfully,

For dinner.

Point taken. And sometimes the number of engines is not constant. Which reminds me of ...

"If you're flying a twin, and you lose one engine, don't worry. The good engine will have just enough power to get you to the scene of the crash."

Actually, I have researched this a little and both pronunciations are approximations of the way the natives in the South American jungles pronounce the cat that they named Jaguar. However, given that we're not driving the south American cat, perhaps we should be pronouncing it the way the company who makes the car pronounces it. So, does anyone know how the pronounce Jaguar in India?

Here on this side of the pond I have never heard of an engine cycle. Mine is a motor cycle. But I do agree. In school the teacher taught us.... electric motor....gasoline engine. Sure didn't stick, did it?

Most people have heard of engine cycles. My automobiles have engines with four cycles, and my chain saw has an engine with two cycles.

So does this mean that my motorcycle, with it's 4-cycle engine, is a rolling contradiction in terms??
