Petrol Cap Cover - Catch replacement

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to get hold of a replacement catch for the petrol cap cover...
On my 2004 XK8, the catch which holds shut the flap covering the petrol cap has failed - the part which attaches to the flap itself has actually fallen off (and been lost on the road somewhere) so the flap won't hold shut. The latch section attached to the car body seems intact and undamaged.
It appears that the catch just slides on and clicks into place, so it should be a 2 minute fix if I could source the part - that is obviously complicated by not having the faulty part to show anybody what I need. I attach a photo of where the catch should attach - plus a picture of the latch mechanism that holds it.
I've tried 3 of the online parts places (FirstChoice, 247spares and partsgateway) and unusually none of them have got back to me with a supplier. My local Jaguar specialist hasn't been able to help. (I haven't tried the Jaguar main dealer; I will as a last resort).
Does anyone know if the part I need has a "proper" name; is not knowing this making it difficult for suppliers to know what I want? If this part isn't available separately, I'm happy to buy a 'kit'; again, can anybody give me a clue what I should be asking for?
Any advice appreciated; I'm keen to get this fixed before some scally siphons my petrol!
Cheers,
Phil

Mine broke but I was able to put it back together. I planned on buying a new part since it couldn't cost more than a few bucks. Found it at the dealer for $40, at SNG Barratt for $30. That was when I got the Gorilla Glue out.
I would check with a wreaking yard.

From the looks of it, the "nut" this catch lands into when the door closes is also broken. The fuel door will probably not be flush with the rest of the body unless you replace it (I did on my car). I sourced the part from dealer, for about $3, and a couple of days wait. The nut twists about a quarter turn, and then pulls out. A gentle twist with an adjustable wrench is all it takes.

DevonDavid - Great job mate, thanks so much. That looks to be exactly what is needed, now ordered... (If only I'd known I was talking about a "fuel filler release striker" I'da probably got hold of this without bothering you good people
That's a great parts site too, I'm sure I'll be dropping in again.
Fmertz - thanks for spotting that, that could have been the start of my problems... i'll see how it is doing with the release striker replaced, and if necessary I'll get one of those ordered as well.
Many thanks everybody!

Phil -Glad to help.
It's worth knowing that S N G Barratt (who sponsor this forum) do a brilliant catalogue - both online and a proper "old fashioned read in bed or the rest-room" printed version. It's an invaluable source of information, part numbers etc. with photographs, drawings and diagrams. Identifying the part and getting the part number is often the hard bit - finding a supplier is then usually straightforward.
S N G Barratt are often, but not always, the least expensive and although some parts for the XK8 / XKR are eyewateringly expensive (like a headlamp for example) , others (like this one) are cheaper than you might expect.
