Default Photo J Gate harness connection point

A recent post about jgates reminded me how hard it was to decipher the location of the wire harness connector to release the j gate for surgery.

This post is purely to give folks a picture of where this connector is for future reference. This is on a 1998 car.

This is the connector to disconnect if you want to remove j gate.

There is certainly a web of wires to unthread the various connectors to get it out, but this one connection was hard to find for me. Hope it helps you down the road.

I did my first surgery in place as I could not figure it out.

Thanks!

Just to muddy the water slightly - earlier cars are different. Don't know when things changed but on my '97 car, there's no metal bracket on the left-hand side - the multiplug for the J Gate harness comes in at the front.
