Default Plug Coil Supplier?

I recently had a misfire on #5, replaced coil with Denso at $250 from Jag dealer. Just had another failure on #2, replaced it with BWD from local parts shop at $175. I need to do them all and the plugs too but there has to be a better source. Can anyone recommend a manufacturer and part number at reasonable cost? 1999 4.0, 110000 km.

Thank you. Is it acceptable to mix and match or should I get all 8? Leaning toward the NGK from past experience.

I would insist that all of my coils be the same. I would also insist on genuine Denso or NGK coils. Cheap knock-off coils cause far too many problems to take a chance on....

NGK. My 2000 had cheap coils. I had problems w/ misfires and one complete failure (cylinder #8). Replaced all and the car ran much better.

I recall someone on the forum had purchased a set of NGK coils from RockAuto only to find out some of the boxes contained parts with coils made by unknown manufacturer, not NGK markings.

So check all coils markings to make sure you are getting the quality paid for.

But to answer the question, yes, stick with NGK for best results. I think the Denso coils for the XKR’s are no longer easily found.

Default Coil Packs

I've had good luck with the Beck/Arnley coil packs from Rock Auto.
