Default "Poor vehicle performance" but the car runs fine

Today i took the car for a longer drive (around 2 hours, max speed around 86, lots of cruising with the windows down - so no crazy stuff). No overheating (need to change water pump, thermostat, thermostat body and cover, waiting for the parts) BUT the "poor vehicle performance" red light and message popped up. Car ran fine until home - was afraid to stop the engine before. Even tried hard accelerations in sports mode. No sweat. Will check later tonight if warning is gone. But what is that?

Thank you

Search Code reader. If you don't have an OBD2 reader you need to get one. That light can be on for 100 reasons, from an open gas cap to a knock sensor beginning to fail. without the codes it hard to diagnose. It also helps to have the model and year in your signature.
