1999 XK8 is leaking PS fluid fast. seems to be the hose from reservoir to pump which may have gotten jostled during recent timing chain replacement. I will get at it this weekend but always appreciate advice from the forum !
thanks again

Had exactly the same problem. One of my first DIY jobs in early 2018 and for me, the leak was from the power steering hydraulic hoses which are a mix of metal/rubber. The crimps failed on mine plus I found an additional weeping "melted" hole.
This forum helped and I attach some info and some pics below that may help (ref. is in the Word .doc attached. Thanks to Hernandez_f).
New Hose
Old Hose
My parts from Terry's Jag (got the other PS hoses when the other side fails... perhaps in the not so near future)
The following are pics from Franco's 2013 thread. Please note that the OEM pipes aren't available any more and that's probably the best as they are badly aligned in the engine bay (mine touched something hot and had a melted hole in it.) The replacement hoses follow a different route through the engine bay. Franco took some nice pics to show the new route. See below.
Definitely DIY-able, with a basic set of tools. Worst bit is the difficult bolt on the steering column end. Check that out first before taking off the bad hose. Also check out the steering pump fixing...… basically can you get both ends off....LOL!
