Power steering leak..

I apologize for the silly question I am about to ask... but instead of spending $ on fixing something that might not be broken..
We checked our power steering fluid after the leak we thought was fixed came back. Well the dipstick is totally covered in fluid instead of being in the middle 2 indicator lines. Would an overfill of fluid leak out? Or cause a new leak? Would you expect to see a drip because of this?

Where is the new leak ? Same place as the old leak you fixed ?
you do need some air space in the P/S reservoir, but it can be filled somewhat above the two lines without causing any issues. How much below the cap top is the fluid ?
As pointed out already, remove the excess fluid and see if that changes the leaking issue.

I had a similar issue where I replaced the high pressure steering hose due to a leak where it had chafed on another component, only to find that another leak on the low pressure line connector had occurred. It seems that making one part good only finds the next weakest point on a 25 year old system.
