Welcome to the forum Sanj22,
The first step in troubleshooting powertrain issues is to get the DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) read with a scantool. Post the actual codes codes back here.
When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Possible Breather Line has slight crack
Hello Sanj22,
My 2000 XK8 check engine light came on and stayed on, and the Restricted Performance alert would occasionally display, thus causing the car to restrict any quick acceleration.
The problem was my Breather Line. Replaced it and it runs great. Hope this helps.
