Default Project JAGOLET is well underway

I stopped by NWA Streetworks today to take a look at the progress of our LS swap. Robert and his crew have made great progress and all we are waiting on is the return of the modified oil pan. The wiring is fine, the 4L60E transmission and drive shaft are in and ready to rock. Robert told me this is BY FAR the easiest and most straight forward swap kit he's ever see. Everything has gone exactly as planned and the kit has been a breeze to use.

Big thanks to Andrew and the crew at Jaguar Specialties. I've added a few photos here and I'll post more when the engine is installed.

What's your projected horsepower?

It's a box stock aluminum LS-1 out of an 02 Camaro SS. I'm not sure what they were rated at but I'll bet it's faster and more dependable than the anemic 4.0 ��

A quick Google search says an SLP Camaro was rated at 345. This car was an SLP. We have deleted the cats and it will get a mild tune. I'm guessing that it will remain at least near the 345 mark.

Nice, I'd suggest you do the anti-roll bar rubbers while you have the access.

Looks like an exciting project and should reward you with a serious performance gain. But I am curious as to the weight difference between the Chev V-8 and the Jag 4.0 engines.

I think the LS motors are prob lighter then the Jag motor.

Default Oil pan progress

My buddy Shad at Macon Motorsports did the work on the oil pan today I'll deliver it to the install shop tomorrow and they'll have the engine bolted in shortly. I've got to admit that it breaks my heart to see a mill cutting up a perfectly good GTO oil pan. On the other hand, it'll be worth it

about the the weight issue. The LS will be 30 pounds heavier than the Jaguar 4 liter.

Default Modified oil pan

Here are a couple up close photos of the modified GTO oil pan, pickup and baffle. I'll deliver it to the shop tomorrow morning. We are getting close enough that we tagged and insured it today.
