hi guys , not sure if its been coverd before , but what is involved in fitting the r engine and gearbox into an 8.
i basicly have a 1997 xk8 in exelent condition with no rust undernieth and of the 6 xk8/rs ive had this is b far the best condition.
now, ive just been offerd an xkr engine and box for a steal of a price and was wondering what els i would need if i was to fit it into my current xk8.
thanks,
craig

You can do it, but....
To simplify something that is not simple, it's a lot of work and involves the computer, fuel delivery and wiring systems too, so just an engine/tranny swap will not do it. (For example, you need a 2nd fuel pump and wiring for it in the fuel tank.)
It is generally considered cheaper and easier to sell your existing normally aspirated car and buy an R type.
