Radiator removal questions
I need to remove the radiator of my 1997 XK8. Fans are out already. Loos like the top cover attached to the upper bracket needs to be removed and the tranny lines removed, and the radiator should come out. Will the tranny fluid pour out or can it be persuaded back into the tranny before much comes out. I'm thinking of blowing air into the top line and radiator fitting once the line is detached to force the fluid into the tranny. Perhaps the fluid can also be forced back from the lower line at the same time. Pipedream or possibility? Also will I have issues with the AC components? The object is to get some working space in the front of the engine. Nothing wrong with the radiator and it will be reused. Any advise is welcome.
Thanks,
Mark

No need to sweat the tranny lines, only a small bit of fluid comes out when they are disconnected.
There is more of a challenge on the right side by the air box. There is a funky bracket bolt that is a bit hard to reach. From memory, it holds some foam air dam. You can leave the A/C parts in place, if this leaves you enough room to work with. FWIW, I thought this job was a bit of a pain. You might want to procure a replacement radiator (Nissens are pretty cheap). The plastic ends age and crack eventually. Just a thought in case this radiator is original.
Also, make sure you use the "service" position for the hood as it leaves a lot more room to work with.
