I am having difficulty getting all of my speakers to play in my 2000 XKR. Only the front tweeters are working properly.

Even when the sound is directed totally aft.

Any insight or suggestions?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums Johnny,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

You should add if it's the STANDARD or PREMIUM audio system and also whether Coupe or Convertible.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

You do realize that the rear loudspeakers are basically SUBWOOFERS only.

I should hope so.

Only the tweeters are working as stated.

Sounds like the amp took-a-dump.

+1 to motorcarman

As entire music "banks" have gone down, it's unlikely to be individual speakers. I don't have the premium sound system, but here's what I would do.

Have you physically checked the music amp (in the trunk, rear right hand side behind the carpet trim)?
Is there power to the unit (should hear a cooling fan running & may be warm to touch)?
The next thing is to check the connections at the back of the amp. Are they clean and tight?

If all checks out ok, then there could be a problem with the connection to the head unit to the amp. That means disassembling the centre console of the car and possibly rear trim to make sure all the connections and wires are good

If they check out then it's either the head unit or the amp itself that is at fault. At that point it's then a decision for a problematic repair or go with an upgraded modern system.
