Default Radio code

So- I left eh car unplugged for a few days and the US spec radio is now asking for a code- do I HAVE to go to the dealer to get it?

Thanks!

Your radio was probably NOT set to "U.S." when the battery was disconnected.
You need to refer to TSB 415-06 for radio selectable features after you input the radio code.

The radio serial number is needed for the code look-up. Sometimes it can be found from a VIN with a DDW search from a Jaguar dealer.

D, look around in the paper work you got with the car. We found the four digit code up in a corner on one of the manuals that came with a friends car. My is on a white plastic card in the dash compartment.

Very unlucky but not unknown to have a US spec vehicle with a coded radio. That makes only 6 I've read about on the forum at various times.

For those of us that have coded radios, the Vehicle Document Pack included two credit card sized radio code cards - this is what you're looking for:

Unfortunately this 4 numeric code is only any good to the present owner of my 2001 XKR Coupe wherever it may be now!

Even in the UK where all radios were coded, the code cards are frequently missing from used Jaguars. The Dealers over here usually look up the code free of charge. Provided the radio is the original, this can be done from the VIN.

7, mine. 'Have the 2 code cards and folder they come in. Radio also lost station pre-sets upon battery disconnect. 'Happy to say the car started after a month being asleep as if it had been driven yesterday. Nice kitty..
