Default Radio DIN size

Does anyone know if the standard XK100 radio can be replaced with a double Din unit?

Thanks

Not easily. Technically it is a single. There have been a few attempts but all required some custom work to the console button layouts.

Search the threads if you want to see specifics.

Double Din, No. Using XJ8 faceplate and filler, single DIN is easy.

What year is your car?

Face plate parts for 1DIN are in the sticky howto and my stereo thread.

Jaguar part LJA6318AB converts the mounting plate to a 1DIN.

Nexxis sells an external trim piece (xj6) that fills the gap.

PAC has a steering wheel control interface.

My 2003 XK8 radio has been replaced with a Pioneer unit and I'd like to find an original.
Will LJD4100AA or another OEM fit? Jaguar Parts list says LJD4100AB.
Thanks

Do you have premium sound with navigation? Do you still have the nav system in rear?

Radio/CD replacement.

It had premium sound but no Nav unit. The original radio is replaced with a Pioneer DEHX9500BHS and the original amp has been replaced with 2 Prime R150x2 amps. It sounds awesome but I would like an original in case a future buyer balks.

It had a trunk mounted CD but that's gone also.

I think the AA part number should be fine. I suspect any non-1997 radio would ok. Make sure you get the code or note serial number.
