Unhappy RE:Fluid leak from Convertible XK8

OK good Jag people,I filled the reservoir with the correct oil for my 99 XK8 convertible, and it started opening and closing wonderful again,as the fluid was low.My wife takes the Jag out yesterday,it was a warm sunny day here in Nor Cal,sorry for you people suffering in the cold right now,she gets home parks her in the garage,I go out to check on her(the Jag) and puddle of fluid leaking forom the same side as the motor and reservoir has formed just under the rear wheel arch and edge of the sill.never seen this before.
Where do I start, obviously a leak from one of the fluid hoses, but how do I get to it,I did notice it seems to have stopped leaking when the fluid was just below the minimum fill line in the reservoir, how do I get to the fluid hoses to see where its leaking?
Please help.

Rear seats are easy to remove, but you may not see much unless you also take out the side trim (top cushioned part and the speaker grill panel).

Calibrit,

Have you looked in the area of the pump?

It's possible you have just now developed a leak at a ram, but that would be quite a coincidence. Seems more likely that when you removed the pump from its mounting to add the fluid you may have disturbed one of the hydraulic connections there.

Thankyou Mr whitexkr ,I will start by doing that to see if I can see any leaks in that area first.Dennis I didnt need to take out the pump to fill the reservoir, the oil can comes with one of those pull out tubes so it can reach tough to get areas, thanks though.
I looked this morning and the leak has stopped with the reservoir just below the Minimum line.not sure why it doesnt leak untill its all empty?

It might be that it is leaking only under high pressure, so each time you operate the top, it will leak more.

If the leak is coming from the front of the rear wheel area it is likely that the ram or hose to the ram is leaking. If your leak is from the pump area it could be from an over fill or a damaged hose or a failed hose/connector at the pump. I think you are going to find the leak at the right rear ram/lift this has been the most common problem with the exception of two that the problem was at the pump. I hope this helps!

The lower line is the low level indicator and the one above it is the high level. This photo link might help http://www.gusglikas.com/images/Auto...2w%5B1%5D2.gif

If I remember right, the low line is your "full" target with the top up, the high line applies with the top down.
