Default Rear bumper?

Hi,

Is there an aftermarket option to replace the rear bumper with something which is more flush to the body? But something without hanging too low as some of the body kits? Thanks.

Mike,

We don't ask for much in the way of personal information but two things really are essential:

1. Location - Jaguar specifications vary around World markets
2. Vehicle details - Model and Year

With this question both the above are relevant. Members cannot tell if you are likely to have the US specification energy-absorbing bumper or RoW solid mounted bumper. Also no indication if it's the original 1996 body or the later facelift.

Hi Graham. Fair enough.

I'm located in Europe, so the car will be an European spec.

As for which version, I don't have a car yet. I'm researching the X100 as a candidate for a project. But I had the impression the sheet metal never changed from 1996 to 2005, so a replacement bumper body kit would fit either body?

Mike,

European spec means it's this more straighforward attachment and a plastic bumper beam:

The bodykits I've seen were styled to match either original or the update body but I'm sure you're right that a revised bumper would fit both.

Thanks.

What I'm looking for is an aftermarket bumper which is more flush to the body than the stock bumpers, which stick out quite far out. Something that looks more streamlined. But without the low and big diffusers some body kits have. I couldn't find anything online. The Paragon and Grantley rear bumpers are more flush. But they have an integrated diffuser and come much lower down than the stock bumper, and I don't like that low rear look.

P.S. would you have more photos of a bumperless car? Preferably from a side angle and showing the whole car? Thanks.

Both Paragon and Grantley went for more extreme designs which was exactly what the market at the time wanted. I don't recall anything more understated which is what you want but other members with greater knowledge and better memories will jump in.

The photo I posted was my 2001 XK8 Coupe which is long gone and I don't have any other view of it with the bumper removed.
