Default Rear fender emblems

I just bought the "Jaguar" and "XK8" emblems that go on either rear fender. They are adhesive-backed, and I'm assuming that the ones that are there already are attached in a similar manner. Any suggestions on removing them without damaging the paint? I was thinking that the judicious use of a heat gun would probably work, but am open any other ideas or suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

A heat gun or hair dryer and then fishing line used in a sawing action usually does it without any paint damage. Any leftover adhesive can be easily removed using WD-40. Clean the area afterwards and wipe with an alcohol pad before applying the new emblems.
