rear seat
My 2004 xk8 has a hole in the rear seat. My question is; Will other model year seats fit?
I only need the lower half of seat and have found one the proper color on ebay. It is, however, out of a 2002. Are these interchangeable or are they year specific?
Hope someone can help, as I can't find this information anywhere.
Thanks guys,
Darrell

If you haven't tried already, go to a good upholstery shop that does leather. I had a big burn hole (~3" in diameter) in the back seat of an Audi and a local shop pulled off the skin, took out the bad section at the seams and sewed in a new one. Matched perfectly and only cost me $150 bucks. Left the back seat with them one morning and picked it up on my way home.

Thanks for all the replies guys. WhiteXKR, if the part numbers are different, I would assume they mount differently as they look identical.........so, I'll abandon that thought.
Baryl, I priced some of the replacement covers and from what I've seen, I can buy the entire seat for less than half the cost of a new cover.
Jag#4, Your idea seems to be the most logical. I will check with a couple of upholstery shops locally and see if they think they can tackle it. If not, there is a good leather shop in Lincoln, NE (100 miles away). I will hit them all up and see what happens.
Actually, no one that has looked at my car has noticed it, but, it bugs me. Apparently, the previous owner spilled something back there, as you can just grab the leather and break off a piece of it. Just one spot, the rest is soft and pliable.
Again, thanks guys, the knowledge on this forum is incredible.
