Much the same story.

So, apologies for my earlier post. I think I am wrong about the CATS shock, stating that it defaults soft, light or normal. But my experience is bout the same as Bobs
I got a new set of nonCatt Blistens for the 04 XKR (the shocks were not bad) and replaced the shocks when I swapped the DEAD 04 XKR upper shock mounts. I didn't car about the CATs feature. Unplugged the system. Rides NICE!

Clearly I car more for the XKR...

I took the old CATs shocks from the XKR and put them on the XK8 which still had the OE green shocks. 215k on them. SURPRISED to find they were not bad either. But still. Replaced them with the old (unplugged) CATs shock from the XKR... Much much improved on the XK8. Good good.

No dental work or chiropractic care needed.

Well, you and Bob both have shared some valuable experiences there. I must admit I am tempted to get new standard shocks Bilsteins would be good). The problem is I would need 4 (front and rear) and that would double the cost, but probably still cheaper than 2 new CATS dampers, so in reality not a problem.

I will have a think over the weekend but thank you both for your info. Thumbs up

Quick update.
The update is there is no update yet, partly working on other cars and partly waiting for new bushes to be fitted.
Thanks

Quick question.
I have to do the same on our XJ8 (X308).
Is it the same process? Looks like it is, pretty much the same rear config.

Thanks

The rear suspension is nearly identical between the X100 and X308. Rear stabilizer bar not fitted to all X308.

The X308 ones come out with far less pain.
