Rear speakers question

Rear speakers question
I have a vert XKR 2000 Alpine system, stock cd changer etc.
I was missing with the f-r fader and noticed that my rear speaker do not work or they are not there. My sub works. But there isnt any sound coming from the rear speaker grills.
I have been reading around and read that the 2000 XKR vert only has speaker in the doors and dash and one sub......is this true?
I have run all my fuses they work.

The convertible has subwoofers in the rear quarter panels, no regular rear speakers. That's why you get nothing with your fader. The coupe has regular speakers in the rear quarter panels and a subwoofer in the deck. I've been looking for the wires not used for the rear speakers and thinking about installing rear speakers somehow. There is probably something on this site so I searching.

you can add a little 'fill' with a tweeter, just need to mount it next to the sub...easy to do. Getting a signal that is above the sub or midbass range (say > 120hz) may be difficult since each speaker (tweet, supertweet, sub, and midbass) gets a separate range delivered straight from the amplifier.
If you want to add a small set of 4-inch, or 3-1/2s, catch n split the signal from the head unit to the amplifier, run it into an amplifier, and power the new speakers separately (but don't forget to crossover to avoid the really low frequencies)
