This appears to be the bottom of the market:

2003 XKR with Recaros, Brembos and 20" wheels for $8K

Can't imagine they will be ever cheaper than this for a running driving clean title 90K mile XKR. If it was Green and a coupe I would low ball them until it was in my garage.

I have made many repairs/upgrades to my 97 and will list it soon, but I'm not going to sell for less than $7K. This is a great touring car, as is the XKR. My Maserati is more of a beast and very loud, not a car for a long trip. I can't really afford to keep three cars, and don't have the garage space, but they all have their strong points, and I don't want to part with any of them. But as long as we keep the XK8's running there will be more cars than demand, and they will last a long time if maintained properly.

Well, so much for prices going "up"! When I bought my pristine 100K mile '03 coupe for $12K in 2012 it was a steal back then.

That's some serious depreciation, even taking into account that the $7K car needs minor work - let's face it: ALL our cars need "minor" work. There's always something on the to-do list, isn't there?

Always keep in mind that while these cars are indeed assets, they are certainly not investments....

That's true. I certainly didn't buy Kitty with the intent to make money. Hey, I've only put 90K miles on her in 3 1/2 years - "that" shouldn't hurt her value any - should it? ;-)

I just acknowledge that the maintenance money I put into her has nothing to due with her market value, ..... but EVERYTHING to do with her smile value.

(e.g., the cost of the "all new hoses, gaskets and seals" project is rapidly approaching $1,000! - ouch). But I'll be sleepin' easy and cruisin' smooth.

Welcome to the forum.

At the top of the threads you should see a box "post new thread". There are some restrictions involving a minimum number of posts and membership time, but I think they apply to downloads, not thread start.
