Remote issue
1999 XKR - Only have a remote and a Valet key. got the car back from a detail yesterday and now the remote will not work. Since I only have a valet key, the remote is how I get in my trunk, so as of now i have no trunk access since the car is in valet mode.
All I get is a loud beep anytime a remote button is pushed. I have tried a few rests I have found on the web, but nothing seems to work, mostlikely because I only have the valet key. Any ideas?

RE: Remote issue
The remote should open the trunk. The car does not know it is attached to a valet key. Will any other function of the remote work? If not I would suggest that the battery is low. The detail folks probably played the radio all day. You can test the voltage under the hood on the left side at the fuse/relay box. There is a positive cable connection with a removable cover. If low, you can also connect a charger at that point.

RE: Remote issue
blueagave, if you notice other 'electrical' issues with your car, try a soft reset of the system by removing the negative cable on the battery for 5 minutes or so. When my car was possessed, the remotes beeped like yours w/o locking, my dome lights would not turn off, among other oddities. A reboot cleared everything up. Definately consider doing this if your battery voltage isn't low.
