Default Removal of chrome plinh under shifter

Hi guys,
I'm trying to replace a broken Jgate plastic top with a good assembly from Elite in LA but haven't figured out what tool is needed to remove the cone shaped plinth under the shift knob (which is now off.) I can see two holes 90 deg apart but can't make out what it is. I tried a small metric hex wrench but couldn't get a bite.

Also trying to track down the location of where the Jgate connector plugs in. Do I have to remove the radio or something else?

When I replaced mine it was straight forward. The set wrench or hex wrench should work easily. The connectors for the cruise and shift mode are easy to get to, no need to touch the radio.

Larue,

Thanks got it! I was concerned I might mess something up when I saw the holes which looked like set screws but it spun right off.
