Bill just curious, did you manage to do this? and survive intact? If I had known you were going to use breeze blocks to hold up your car I would have Come over and kept and eye on the blocks for you!

Hi Frank. Yes, no problems thanks, was literally safe as houses despite the digs and was grateful as always to the help I was given by all the forum members, if it wasn't for all the help I get I'd never be able to drive such a lovely car (IMO). I stripped the gearbox down to all the component parts and replaced a few O seals, the A drum, F clutch piston and the valve body with a modified piston kit. I used another breeze block to convert my jack to a gearbox jack and made all the press tools myself, using jubilee clips and even a paint can for one. I was at the biyearly Jag spares day at Stoneleigh last Sunday and there was a guy open to offers on brand new boxes starting at a grand, I'd have bought all his stock if I had the cash.

I am organising a tour of a gear box service/workshop in Gloucester sometime in the near future. If I remember I will send you an invite, if you want to go. The guy knows his stuff. He serviced mine and did some work on it for me very recently. Wont be for a while though.
