Removing fuel line 2000 XK8 Coupe
From what I've seen online, disconnecting the fuel lines from the tank is a bear. I noticed the fuel lines run up and behind an aluminum shield that is above the differential. Am I missing something? I haven't seen this on any site or you tube video. I'm wondering if I am even looking at the right place. I tried following the line from the filter, so I think it's correct. how hard is the shield to remove, as I can only see one bolt? thanks

Johnny, pull your body toward the front of the car and look over that shield. A bit to the left of the rearend on the flat area of the up portion of the trunk. If you run your arm over that rear axle you can touch the line.
Not a easy job, just make sure the car is safe on stands and the front wheels are blocked. Getting the old gas out requires a 1/4 inch line of 44 inches at the cap area and what ever you need for the pump. I understand the $10 Harbor Freight electric pump does a good job.
