Removing head unit/radio in minutes
I have an issue just started where my entertainment system head unit powers on then seconds later trips off. Rinse and repeat a couple of times and it's then good for rest of the day. I am still getting to the bottom of the issue but in removing the unit l did what l have always done and removed console and associated bits and pieces.
When l came to put it back l thought it silly to have such a protracted procedure for removal, especially when putting it back in is simply a matter of sliding into place, so l made up a couple of tools.
Tried these after reinstalling unit and can now have it out in a matter of minutes. Only other requirement is gear selector in drive for clearance.
This is stock photo but catches can be seen on top.
