Default Removing side window

Hi guys. I got a 04 XK convertible and I need to access the door handle from the inside. I got the door card off with no problem but to access the handle I need to remove the window. There are two hairpin clip in the window register arms at the bottom of the window. See pictures. I have taken these off but I still cant lift the window out. I don't want to remove the window motor/actuator because this is getting out of my comfort zone. Dose anyone know how to remove the window?

If you fully raise the window, you should be able to access the door handle mechanism without removing the glass.

I agree, raise the glass.

White & Grant:
Both of you were right. With the door open, if you hit the door "up" an extra time (because of the limiting thing), the window moves up another 3/4" or so. Giving me more access. That said, I still may need to use my "curved fingers" to reach all the fasteners to the door handle.
What I'm trying to do is replace the dry-rotted gasket, and I'm concerned with the spring and linkage. Any advice would be appreciated.

Gary,

If you need to remove this linkage, don't force it:

Slide the black locking ring down:

The metal link rod will then pop off the plastic moulding:

Forcing the plastic pin off the Door Latch is an almost sure way to break it.

Guys, I just about got it. But my linkage doesn't look like yours. And there is only one that I see. See picture. I got what looks like a black plastic ball joint on the bottom of the link and it is tight. I would hate to break it. Please confirm I can just pull it loose.

Gary ....... in the US ....... so that's your passenger door.

I spend all my time here in the UK getting in and out of that side on a RHD car!

Only two linkages on the passenger door because it doesn't have an external lock (link with green arrow) like on the driver's door.

You can (CAREFULLY) pop off the one arrowed in blue in the diagram because it's a ball and socket.

Thanks Graham, I'm planning on doing both doors. I'll post pictures when done.
