It may be time!?
volume control knob not working properly as turning and turning barely increases volume....station presets working fine.
speakers fine.
i cannot fix much of anything DIY !
anyone ever have similar issue ?
any replacement suggestions/ brands/ models that will fit right in existing slot and not be very costly to purchase and have installed??
Thx

As you are planning to get rid of the original radio, you may as well try fixing it first. The volume control is a rotary encoder, with metal contacts that in effect open and close as you turn the volume knob. These get dirty over time and stop making a good electrical connection. Its worth investing in a can of contact cleaner and spraying it into the volume control - remove the control knob first by pulling - it can be difficult to remove, but if you are junking the radio anyway you can risk breaking it. Spray plenty of cleaner around the shaft and rotate it. Repeat this over several days and see if you get any improvement - its certainly easier to do that than change the radio.
