I do not know if mine was originally red or green. Since my front SC Growler, and my show shifter are both red, I am curious if anyone has recolored their existing badge.
The reason that I ask, is that over 15 years ago, I recolored my 66 Skylark hub centers which the "red" had been entirely weathered away. My method was to polish the backside down to clear and chrome. (of course frontside polished also). Applied transparent (candy apple) red to backside. Then behind that, mist silver reflective paint coats, and finally mist protective coats (epoxy gray in think)

I would be game to try this on my trunk button. Any thought?

Reviving an old thread here. My badge was looking pretty ratty and I was getting ready to clean it up a bit. But sometime in the last several days the badge fell off somewhere and now there is just the black button below as shown in the photos. Is there any source these days just to get a replacement badge to glue on?

Default Replaced the green button with Red to match all of the rest .

Saw this and thought that maybe someone else had done what I did…. I found that the red button from (I believe is was an S type) bolted right in, no physical mods to the switch or plinth, just swapped the connectors between the switches! Viola! A proper Red growler on the back of my XKR!… yes I need to get a good polish on the plinth itself too.

I finally did find a seller on ebay who had the green growler emblem that came off of a 2000 XJ but it appears that the same button system was used on a bunch of different Jag models for a several year period. If I didn't find the emblem Plan B would have been to buy the entire button/harness which would have cost more and required hassling with removing the old assembly and installing the new one.

Now that it's clean it should be easy to take care of.
Thanks JagNoir for telling us there is more back there than just a black button.

Did you replace just the emblem or the entire button? Have any pics?
