Ok... So looking more closely. The ignition coils,,, the VVT and the temp sensor all share a common 2 sets of multi pin large connectors - I believe... PI 1 and 2... But there's more digging to do. From what I think I understand,,, yes, all these things run thru the multi pin that rests on top of the transmission and under the throttle body...
For GOODNESS sakes....lol... The ED for my car (2004) lists the location and description of all of the wires and plugs etc on the page directly above the wiring schematic page,,, the ED for the 2000 has the doggone schematic page and the description page VERY separate, some 20+ pages separate - all the locations and descriptions are in one section,,, wiring schematic diagram in another section, omg... Tough on a phone.
Grounds
PI 1 and 2 front-ish center

JayJagJay - Man, thank you very much for the snapshots and for attaching the manual! My apologies not for responding as life got in the way for 30 days. I was able to open the case holding the ECM and various modules. Everything was air tight no dust or debris. Opened the ECM - no damage or anything faulty to the eye. Could only locate 1 ground. However, I did locate the Large bulk connector resting atop of the transmission. I even unbolted it to examine for corrosion or damage - All good. I am going to take the direction of PI 1 and PI 2. This is because when the acceleration concerned happened, I tapped on the throttle body and the acceleration ceased. This is starting to make sense now. I will have time at the end of this week to start back on it. I will let you know what I find. Thank again for your help!
